Welcome to Zambia College of Distance Education

The Zambia College of Distance Education (ZACODE) is a government-owned institution under the Ministry of Education. We are dedicated to increasing access to quality secondary education through open and distance learning.

Since our establishment in 1964, we have continued to provide educational opportunities to learners who are unable to attend conventional schools due to distance, work commitments, financial challenges, or other life circumstances.

Learner Support Unit

Our Learner Support Unit exists to guide and support students throughout their academic journey. We provide assistance with course information, study guidance, communication, and access to learning resources. We are committed to ensuring every learner receives the support they need to succeed.

Learner Support Unit Structure

The main function of the Learner Support Committee at ZACODE is to minimise the gap between lecturers and the learners.

    Dealing with administrative problems related to the programme.
  • 02

    Providing accurate and detailed information of the programme of study, on time and the support services available.
  • 03

    Provision of information on the availability of scholarships and loans.
  • 04

    Provision of academic advice on course selection and registration.
  • 05

    Providing students with a full package of study materials (modules) for the courses they have registered for and on time.

    The timely provision of guidance to students on what and how to study.
  • 07

    Accommodating different learning styles.
  • 08

    Encouraging students to become actively involved in the learning process.
  • 09

    Helping students realise and understand the instructional objectives of the course by minimising the negative effects of isolation.

    Providing counseling and guidance services.

    Providing support to students with disabilities.

    Advising learners on the availability of library services.

    Helping students deal with the institution and augment (make greater addition) the package of course materials.
